During my first day of Movement 3, our class went to the high school to experience the challenge course. One of our first activities was this run around and get in a certain order before the time ran out activity. During this activity I was getting my heart rate up and was surprisingly tired.
Later in that class we had to do a trust activity were we fell backwards and our partner had to catch us. This exercise was proving to be a little difficult for me. I was extremely terrified have my partner not being able to catch me. Tiffany, my partner, did a great job being patient and understanding. She starting only letting me fall a couple inches and then slowing increased the distance.
For our team building activity, our group of 11 people had to get from one 'island' to another, while only having three 'rocks' we were able to step on. This activity started out a little frustrating for us because we did not have one set leader or plan. On our first attempt we did not succeed and we had to go back to the beginning. Then, we were presented with another challenge, our voices were taken away. That challenge gave everybody a chance to give ideas, where if we had voices, some of the group members voices and opinions were so strong it was excluding others from giving input. By the end we were able to get across, and I believe it only took us four tries.
This day was amazing because I thought that I was close with my peers before, but after the team building activities I learned and experienced so much more with them.
